Miners' Memorial Day Festival

Thank You for Helping Celebrate Our 15th Annual Festival!

Father's Day Weekend June 12 - 15

The Miners' Day Festival is sponsored by the Eureka Coal Heritage Foundation with assistance from WAVE (Windber Area Visioning Experience) and the Windber Hotel staff.  It is an annual event to honor the coal miners who worked and died in the mines, growing from a small parade on main street to the current 4-day street festival. Visitors from around Southwestern Pa. and beyond come to enjoy events including car, motorcycle, and truck/ATV shows with live entertainment; street dances each night featuring area bands; fireworks; food and craft vendors; children’s petting zoo and games; parade and other fun family activities.

This event is designed to celebrate our rich heritage in coal and family values.  Good, clean entertainment for the entire family! And this year the festival achieved another huge success.

It was our privilege this year to honor the remaining 'original' dog run members who selflessly gave of their time to help preserve our community's reputation of "a great place to live and raise a family." The 'original' Dog Run committee formed to have a fun motorcycle run and party afterward, while raising money to help struggling organizations in Windber.  Over the years, they've helped not only our organization, but the Windber Library, paid for Christmas lights and banners, Scout groups, to name just a few.   Although the Dog Run has run its final course, it is only fitting to recognize those responsible from the beginning.... for surely they were an important part of Windber's more recent history.

Of course, none of this could have been accomplished without the generous support of our sponsors. We invite you to visit and support the many sponsors from our 'Festival Sponsors' list.  Without their support this event would not be possible.  THANK YOU SPONSORS!!
